PIT Crew – Practice Interview Team

Mark MacDonald is the founder and lead for The PIT Crew. He may be reached at dallaspitcrew@gmail.com.

The PIT Crew meets on Wednesdays at 1:00 pm at Christ United Methodist Church in Plano at the southwest corner of Coit and Parker. We typically interview three people per week, but can do four on an as needed basis. When I schedule your practice interview I will forward a map of the facility and where to park and enter the building.

The “crew” will need a resume and a job description to prepare for your interview. The job description should represent the type of job you are targeting. I will distribute the resume and job description to the team of panelist and they will prepare in advance for your interview. I’d like to have your resume by Sunday – three days before your interview.

We open the meetings with a brief networking session where both panelist and candidates introduce themselves and describe what they are looking for in terms of their job search.

We then form the interview panels and hold the interviews – which take approximately 45 minutes including the feedback provided by the panelist immediately after the interview is completed.

After the individual interviews the entire team reassembles and we discuss, as a group, what came up during the interviews and the candidates are given an opportunity to provide feedback to the panelists. We also have a question-of-the-week that we discuss as a group. For example, what to say when asked what your salary requirements are.
